Belgian style amber ale. Strong in flavor (fruit, notes of figs and raisins, plums) and alcohol. A rich ale usually brewed by trappist monks as sustenance during the fasting periods. The “beer is food adage”, started many years ago by the monks. Now a classic Belgian style brewed all over the world.
We used light roasted grains for an underlying toastiness and breadiness that balances the fruit ester the Belgian yeast strain features.
